‘’As a young girl running through the forest of Windsor Great Park I was struck by the vastness of it and by the sense of being able to get lost in it. That sensation still sticks with me today and has been triggered by many other awe-inspiring moments in Nature.
Most recently in Berlin I embarked on a trek through Grunewald Forest and was again struck by the grandeur and beauty of it.
This exhibition takes key moments in Berlin and re-works them. In this buzzing city it is all too easy to forget to take time apart, to find an inner balance. I feel that this is a problem of the modern-day lifestyle; we reserve these important times for that two week holiday, or that rare Sunday we find ourselves with nothing to do.
As part of my exhibition I also created an interactive installation, ‘Tree of Lives’ which asked you to recount your most memorable experience in Nature and attach it to the collective ‘tree’. I believe that everyone has these memories and in re-connecting with them will be able to take a bit of that moment with them into daily life.’’
